Strong Dutch - Philippine ties in maritime and other industries

SOL became a member of the DCCP around 2,5 years ago. It was the enthusiasm of the DCCP director Mitchel Smolders, who convinced SOL to join since there is a large maritime section and a lot of Dutch companies which are setting foot in the Philippines. For SOL a perfect match because SOL offers online Maritime English Communication programs and tests, trains and certifies seafarers on English proficiency. Quite a few Dutch shipping companies and their manning agents in the Philippines work with SOL.

Collaboration and leadership across borders

In addition SOL is an institute for cross-cultural communication programs. In cooperation with Seatrade, a Dutch shipping company, Spot On Learning has introduced an online intercultural communication course for the maritime industry several years ago. SOL also offers solid blended programs in conjunction with Culture-Inc. These programs help participants understand and bridge differences between cultures in order to facilitate efficient international business and further develop leadership of diverse, international teams and organizations.

Events promoting collaboration coming up soon

We are looking forward to continuing the collaboration with some great events coming up. The first one is a business trade mission in Manila:

• Organized by the Dutch Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines and The Docks Accelerator, with the valuable support of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and the Embassies in both Manila and the Hague, a business trade mission is scheduled to take place from October 9 to October 13, 2023, in Manila.
